Q. I am looking for anything in the archives related to the UMD Computer Science department from 1985, such as course catalogs, curriculum, floor plans.

Past Course catalogs and schedules of classes have been scanned and uploaded to Internet Archive.

University Archives have the papers of two CS professors who would have been with the department at that time: Jack Minker and Ben Shneiderman.

The Department of Physical Plant records (Series 4) may include floor plans related to the CS department. CS once shared space with other departments before moving to its own buildings. Consider looking at contemporary campus maps in Digital Collections to find relevant buildings to then match with floor plans.

Finally, CS faculty have produced two department histories, one to 1979 and one covering 1979-2006.
