Like many University Libraries, the University of Maryland Libraries faces multiple challenges in the effort to build and maintain collections and provide access to the resources needed to support the institutional research and teaching mission. The collection budget at UMCP, like many other institutions, has failed to keep up with the rising costs of the information marketplace. One result of these budgetary constraints is that the Libraries' subscription to Facts and Comparisons eAnswers will not be renewed. Access to the database ended in March 2016.

Alternatives to Facts and Comparisons eAnswers include the following resources:

UMD Libraries’ databases:

National Library of Medicine (NLM)

Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
