Like many University Libraries, the University of Maryland Libraries faces multiple challenges in the effort to build and maintain collections and provide access to the resources needed to support the institutional research and teaching mission. The collection budget at UMCP, like many other institutions, has failed to keep up with the rising costs of information resoruces. One result of these budgetary constraints is that the Libraries' subscription to RefWorks will not be renewed. Access to the database will end on June 30, 2016. Individuals with RefWorks accounts must save their data in another citation manager before the end date of the RefWorks subscription.
Alternatives to RefWorks include EndNote Online, Mendeley and Zotero. Information on these three alternatives may be found at http://lib.guides.umd.edu/citationtools
Additionally, information on importing citations from RefWorks into one of the alternative systems may be found at:
- EndNote Web - Reference Transfer Help (See Import 16)
- Mendeley - Importing from RefWorks
- Zotero - Import Libraries from RefWorks
