Like many University Libraries, the University of Maryland Libraries faces multiple challenges in the effort to build and maintain collections and provide access to the resources needed to support the institutional research and teaching mission. The collection budget at UMCP, like many other institutions, has failed to keep up with the rising costs of the information marketplace. One result of these budgetary constraints is that the Libraries' subscription to AGRICOLA will not be renewed. Access to the database will end June 30, 2016.

AGRICOLA database can be searched for free on the National Agricultural Library's catalog. If you need to acces a book or full text of any article, search the UMD Libraries' Worldcat and UBorrow catalogs.

Alternatives to AGRICOLA include databases available through Database finder and listed by Subject Category:

For more information beyond the databases listed above, please consult the research guides by subject or contact your subject librarian.
