Like many University Libraries, the University of Maryland Libraries face multiple challenges in the effort to build and maintain collections and provide access to the resources needed to support the institutional research and teaching mission. The collection budget at UMCP, like many other institutions, has failed to keep up with the rising costs of the information marketplace. One result of these budgetary constraints is that the Libraries' subscription to ASKZAD/PANI will not be renewed.

Access to the database will end on May 31, 2016.

Alternatives to ASKZAD/PANI include the following databases available at UM Libraries:
* CIAO

* ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global

* Academic Search Complete (EBSCOhost)

* Mideastwire.com

* Middle Eastern & Central Asian Studies (MECAS-EBSCOhost)

* MasterFILE Premier (EBSCOhost)
