Like many University Libraries, the University of Maryland Libraries faces multiple challenges in the effort to build and maintain collections and provide access to the resources needed to support the institutional research and teaching mission. The collection budget at UMCP, like many other institutions, has failed to keep up with the rising costs of the information marketplace. One result of these budgetary constraints is that the Libraries' subscription to the Papers of Dwight David Eisenhower will not be renewed. Access to the database ended in December 2016.
The UMD Libraries still own the 21-volume print edition of The Papers of Dwight David Eisenhower, on which the online edition was based.
Many documents relating to Eisenhower’s life and career can be found on the website of the Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum & Boyhood Home.
