I am guessing that the catalog entry that you accessed was the ebook record. While WorldCat (our catalog) does show you the "on shelf" versions, it will not allow you to place a hold on them because you accessed the ebook record.
If you select the "Editions and Formats" section of the ebook record, you would be able to access the print book record and then the "Request Item" button will show up.
We are aware that it is a bit confusing and we are working to make the catalog more user friendly.
