Hello,

Good question! McKeldin is an academic library at a public university. We are a state government building as well as a federal repository for government documents. This means that anyone may use most of our materials on site (many ebooks and some databases require UMD Credentials), while in the building. More specific info about visiting may be found @ http://www.lib.umd.edu/about/visitors

If you were looking for borrowing privileges, we offer a program that allows community members to purchase modest borrowing privileges, but that does have an age restriction (must be 18). More info about the Community Borrowers program may be found @ http://www.lib.umd.edu/access/community-borrowers
