Hello,

Anyone can use our facilities and materials in the eight branches of the UMD Libraries during normal operating hours.  But this does not include Late Night Study at McKeldin, the main library on campus.

Visitors can check out books by joining the Community Borrowers Program (Note: Community Borrower Card picking up and processing ends 30 minutes prior to closing).

Visitors can use public computers in the Libraries by getting a guest ID and password at the Services Desk.

To use wireless, visitors must be affiliated with an institution that subscribes to eduroam so that they can log in using their ID and password from that institution.

While visitors have access to most online resources (like databases) in the Libraries when on campus, they have no access when off campus.

USMAI students and faculty members have many of the same privileges as those at UMD.

Visitors are not eligible for certain services, such as Interlibrary Loan; however, they can frequently request items not in the collections here through ILL from a local public library or from their own place of study. Most privileges are specified on our privileges page @ http://www.lib.umd.edu/access/access-privileges

More information for visitors to the Libraries can be found here.
