The amount of time you can borrow a book depends on your status as, for example, a student, faculty or staff currently affiliated with a state of Maryland university (USMAI).
More details are available on the Borrowing Privileges page, but here are a few common possibilities:
UMD Undergraduate Students: Up to a semester*
UMD Graduate Students: Up to a semester*
UMD Faculty & Staff: Up to one year*
Community Borrower: Up to 30 days
*Loans are due May, August, or December, with a few exceptions.
