Hello,

Unfortunately, we do not mail library books to individuals; they can only be picked up at one of our branches or at another USMAI institution.

However, there are several other options for you to obtain books and other research material while away from campus. If you happen to live near another USMAI institution, you can check out books there or place a hold on a book at any USMAI library and have it transferred to the USMAI library closest to you.

Graduate students and faculty members can borrow books at CIRLA libraries and use ILL to obtain electronic copies of individual articles and book chapters at UMD Libraries. Faculty also can borrow books at a number of research libraries through the OCLC Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Program

Finally, you may be able to obtain borrowing privileges at another research library wherever you are living. A university library nearby may have a "Friends of the Library" or other special borrower's program through which you may borrow books for an annual fee.
