Q. Where can I return my library books?

During the pandemic, please see Book Drops for book return information. 

• UMCP or USMAI materials may be returned to any UMCP OR USMAI library with the exception of Hornbake Library (see UMD's Eight Libraries). 
• Items obtained through Interlibrary Loan or UBorrow can be returned at most UMD library locations. Please see the list of available locations at ter.ps/illpickup. 
• Course reserve items and special loans should be returned to the library from which they were borrowed and not placed in bookdrops.
• While you may return sound recordings and audiovisual materials from UMD (College Park) campus libraries to any USMAI library, we encourage you to return those items to the owning location (e.g. the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library in Clarice Smith) to avoid damage. 
• Borrowers should return library materials by the due date shown in My Account in the Catalog.
• Exterior book drops are available at several locations. 
• Return receipts are emailed for you upon return at most locations.
