Hello,

The Libraries use "Folio" to designate those areas in its eight branches where tall books are located.  Due to their large size, folios are shelved separately from other books, and the catalog records and library maps reflect this distinction. For example, note the different locations for Folio books and books in the Stacks as seen on the McKeldin Floor Plan.

UMD users can request folios and other circulating books using the red Place hold button in WorldCat UMD.  You can choose to pick them up at the same library's service desk, at another library on campus, or at another library within the MD state university system (USMAI)
