Hello,

You can absolutely request for a chapter or page range to be scanned and delivered through ILL! You can do this two different way:

1.)  When using WorldCat UMD, find the record for the book in which the chapter is found.  Then under "Access Options" click the red Request Item through Interlibrary Loan button. This will bring you into your ILL Services Account, where you can place the request.  Citation information will be imported from the WorldCat record, making it easier to place the request. Since this is for a book chapter, click the Switch to Chapter Request button.

The request form will change to allow you to enter the specific chapter title and page range that you would like to request.

2.) A second option is log in to your ILL Services Account directly and open the “Article - Request an Article or Chapter (in PDF format)” form, then manually input the citation.

Usually, articles/book chapters scanned from sources owned by UMD Libraries are delivered within 1-2 business days of a request.

In the event that an article or chapter you request is not available on campus, ILL will automatically refer the request to other libraries for fulfillment (usually 1-3 business days). This service is provided free of charge and available to UMD faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students.
