Hello,

The Community Borrowers Program only provides borrowing privileges for circulating books held by the University of Maryland libraries.

Community Borrowers and other visitors may access the internet in 3 ways:

  1. Register for 24 hour wi-fi access using the umd-guest wi-fi network. Registration requires a mobile phone capable of receiving sms text messages (note: UMCP e-resources are not available to users on the guest wi-fi network or on the eduroam network).
  2. Using the eduroam wi-fi network (if affiliated with a participating eduroam institution). Learn more about using eduroam at UMD.
  3. On library computers. Access the internet and most UMCP e-resources on library computers (ebooks require permanent UMD credentials) by requesting a guest account from the Library Services Desk. Photo ID is required. Acceptable forms of identification include driver's license, state-issued ID card, passport, military ID, school ID, or other institutional ID with photo and unique identifying number. Guest accounts are active for 7 days.
