Yes, you can use the open study carrels located on the third floor of McKeldin. (For location, see "back wing" of Third Floor on this floor plan.) Carrels are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The combination is posted on each room's door. (Just a reminder: Please keep your belongings secured and do not leave them in the room if you go out.)
Carrels on the floors above the third floor are reserved for UMCP students, faculty, and staff.
Lastly, many of the Libraries' Eight Branches have designated quiet areas that you may find conducive to working on your studies.
