Directory IDs are issued by the university's Division of Information Technology (DivIT). You should be able to acquire/activate yours here.
Directory IDs are used to access e-resources off-campus, to log in to My Account for UMCP library materials, to log into ILL Services Account for Interlibrary Loan requests, to use university email, and for a number of other university systems.
