Hello,

By asking how to access journal articles off campus through Google Scholar, I think you mean accessing GS through Database Finder from the Libraries' homepage so that GS links into the Libraries' online holdings (which would normally not happen if you simple pulled up GS and did a search).

If I am understanding you correctly, then the answer is yes, you can access GS off campus through Database Finder after you log in with your University ID and password.

In addition, Google Scholar has a feature in its settings that will link it to university holdings. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Google Scholar: http://scholar.google.com/
  2. Go to Settings (top right)
  3. Click on Library Links (left menu)
  4. Type in College Park
  5. Check the box for University of Maryland – Find @ UMD
