Hello,

The University of Maryland Libraries is open to the public during regular library hours, so anyone can enter our libraries and consult our materials.

If you are currently enrolled at a USMAI college or university, you may borrow circulating books from our collection in one of two ways:

(1) Come to one of the College Park libraries, get a guest ID and password to log on to a Dell public computer and search for materials, pull items from the shelf, and check them out using your college's photo ID

(2) Request materials from any USMAI library homepage (UMCP's is lib.umd.edu) and select the pick-up location of your choice (e.g. your own college/university library).  We'll send the books to that location, and you'll receive an email once the items are available for pick-up.

You can borrow our materials for up to 12 weeks (if you are a undergraduate) or up to 1 semester (if you are a graduate student).  There is no limit on the number of items you may borrow or the number of times you may renew them.  You can view the borrowing privileges here.

Thank you for using AskUs!
