The University of Maryland Libraries do not have a formal volunteers program. Some departments do sometimes have volunteer opportunities, and the best person to contact for more information is the UMD Libraries' Associate Director of Development, Mary Dulaney (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Information about library privileges can be found here. A volunteer could conceivably come from any of these groups, but he or she could also come from outside the University.
I hope this helps answer your question. Please feel free to contact us again through the AskUs! button on the homepage of the Libraries if we can assist you further.
