Hello,

First, visitors are welcome to use UMD's Libraries. Staff at any of our six College Park campus libraries will need a picture ID to issue you a guest ID and password for logging on our Dell public computers. Logging on will enable you to access the vast majority of our databases for seeking articles in your research area. You can download and save or photocopy articles.

Visitors are also welcome to use books within the Libraries. If you wish to check out books, we do have Community Borrowers and Community Researchers programs. A Community Borrowers card is $50/year and allows patrons to check out up to 25 books at a time; a Community Researchers card is $100/year and allows patrons to check out up to 100 items.

Note that each program has its own loan period and renewal limit; these programs do not include off-campus access to our research databases. Complete information, including on how to apply, is located here

Note: Community Borrower Card picking up and processing ends 30 minutes prior to closing.
