Hello,

Please see our Interlibrary Loan page for requesting books that we do not own.

If this is a book that you think we should own in the library, please fill out the Purchase Request Form on the Libraries' website. The Libraries welcome recommendations for new materials (suggestions from UMD faculty, students and staff are given the highest priority).

Please complete the online form to request an item be added to the Libraries' collection.

Before you request an item to be purchased:

  • Please check the online catalog to verify that the Libraries do not own the item.
  • If you have a list of several titles, please consider contacting the Librarian responsible for selecting materials for the subject area. The Directory of Subject Specialists lists Librarians with their selection areas.
  • Subject selectors make the final purchase decisions. Factors that affect the decision include relevance to the curriculum and budgetary constraints.
