Mass downloading articles, beyond any functionality that may be provided in a database, is considered text/data mining and is strictly prohibited by the majority of UMD Libraries' licenses and contracts. Additionally, the use of any robots, spiders, or other automated downloading programs, algorithms, or devices to search, screen-scrape, extract, or index any publisher web site or web application is strictly prohibited and can result in a publisher blocking access to the database for the individual user and/or all users.

Please check this guide to Text Mining and Analysis in the Humanities.
