Good question!

To start, the name of your library account may be different if you are a UMD College Park user vs a user at another USMAI institution who has borrowed our books, but it's likely something like "My Account" or "My Library Card". The new system separates which books come from which institutions (the overview section seems like it should list all books from all institutions, but it still only lists your home institution's items).

There should be a list of libraries (the list includes all institutions you have borrowed from recently). To check on your loans, you'll need to click on each institution individually. For example, try "University of Maryland College Park (UMCP)" to see the books borrowed from our campus. Once clicked, that page should also let you renew them too. If that still isn't working, you may need to reach out to the library that owns the books or your home institution to find out more (for UMCP folks that's us!).

Example of the "overview" section of the UMD Discover library account.

If we are nearing the end of a semester (especially the short summer semesters) due dates may seem shorter than expected. This is because many libraries use standard due dates like "End of Term/Semester" or "End of Year", depending on your user status. Good news though! If the item hasn't been requested by another user, you can generally renew it again within a few weeks of the start of the next semester.
