The Libraries has a small circulating collection of LaserDiscs, an analog video format in use since 1980. They are stored in our staff only media stacks (in the "McKeldin Library Media Laserdisc" Location).

In order to access the LaserDiscs, UMD affiliated users should request them via UMD Discover. Items are normally available at McKeldin within 1 business day, where they will be held for you to pickup within 7 days.  Like other circulating media, the loan period for these films is 30 days.

Please note that these films require a LaserDisc player to view them and need to be handled with an amount of care. If you do not have a LaserDisc player, you can view the film on a first floor media viewing station at McKeldin Library. While not required if you know how use the player, you may contact askmckcirc@umd.edu to schedule (in advance) a full LaserDisc and viewing station walkthrough. If you do not have prior experience using this equipment, please be sure to note that in the message.
