Hello!

Anyone can use our facilities and materials in six College Park campus libraries during normal operating hours (excluding Late Night Study at McKeldin Library).

Note: USMAI students and faculty members have many of the same privileges as those at UMD.

Visitors can also:

  • Use public computers in the Libraries by getting a guest ID and password at the Services Desk (photo ID required)
  • Use Wi-Fi
    • EDUROAM - users can log in using their ID and password from their home institution
    • Guest Wifi (mobile phone with SMS messaging required)
  • While in campus libraries, visitors have access to most online resources licensed by the UMD Libraries (including journals and newspapers). Due to licensing restrictions, most ebooks (and even some databases) require UMD credentials even on campus.
  • Check out books by purchasing a membership in our Community Borrowers Program (Note: Please allow one business day for application processing. Community Borrower Card pick up and processing ends 30 minutes prior to closing)

Visitors are not eligible for certain library services such as Interlibrary Loan and Equipment Borrowing; more information for visitors to the Libraries can be found on our Information for Visitors page.
