Q. When I try to log onto a Mac I get a message asking me to change my keychain password. What do I do?

Hello,

You most likely used the computer in the past but since then have updated your password with campus IT. The computer wants to update the password to access the keychain which holds all of your saved passwords for websites, other programs, etc.

Students should update the password used with the keychain or they will continue to be prompted at that particular Mac, and to unlock the keychain initially they must use their old password. The keychain updating is standard practice for when users change their passwords other than at that particular computer.
