Hello,

You do not need a library card to use the University of Maryland Libraries. Anyone may come into the buildings and use our resources during our regular daytime hours. Students can also use their University ID to use the library during Late Night Study hours.

All University of Maryland faculty, staff, and students (also called University affiliates) can check out books with their University IDs. If you are not a University affiliate, and you would like to check out materials, you can join the Community Borrowers Program.

You can access our online resources when you are in the library; if you would like to use one of our computers to do so, you can get a guest log-in (with a photo ID) at the circulation desk.

Only University of Maryland faculty, staff, and students can access our online resources from off campus.  Those privileges are not extended to Community Borrowers, or to the general public.
