First, log in to your ILL Services account.

Under the Checked Out Items header, select the Transaction Number for the item you would like to renew.

If the lending library permits renewal requests, the option to Renew Request will appear above the transaction information. Click on it.

One of the following responses will then appear, depending on your circumstances: 

A.  Your renewal request has been sent to the lending library for consideration.

     If your request is approved, the due date will update in your ILL Services Account, so check back within a few days.  

     If your request is denied, you will be notified via email.  

B.   The item can only be renewed between certain dates. 

      In this case you will need to wait until the specified time frame to make the renewal request. 

C.   The potential renewal period has passed. 

       In this case you are no longer able to request a renewal and you will need to return the item ASAP. 


Please keep in mind that renewals are not granted by ILL staff, but by the lending library, and not all lending libraries permit renewals.
